RCIA – The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

The RCIA process prepares adults 18 years of age and older for full initiation into the Catholic Church or for completion of initiation in the Catholic Church. The period of instruction and formation begins in the fall and continues through the Easter season. During this process, participants make a journey in faith while learning the teachings, practices and traditions of the Catholic Church. The RCIA reaches out to everyone: those who wish to be completely initiated into the Catholic faith by receiving Baptism, Confirmation and First Holy Communion; those who wish to complete their initiation by receiving Confirmation and First Holy Communion; those who wish to complete their initiation by receiving Confirmation and First Holy Communion; and those from other Christian faiths who want to make a profession of faith in the Catholic Church.
